Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has once again made a startling revelation about the National Cathedral project.
The MP in a post on Twitter has disclosed that the contractor in charge of the project received US$22.07 million out of the US$58.1 million of taxpayers’ funds illegally withdrawn from the public purse.
“National Cathedral contractor, RIBADE JV received only US$22.07million out of the US$58.1million of taxpayer funds illegally withdrawn for the project. Ghanaians are not angry enough. It is absolutely incredible that with the avalanche of scandals which cannot even fit into,” Okudzeto Ablakwa shared in his post.
The Minority Caucus in Parliament is urging the government to listen to advise and suspend the National Cathedral project to stop the project from imposing additional financial burden on the Ghanaian taxpayer.
The Minority insists that the project lacks transparency and no additional funds should be released to the Board of Trustees especially with Ghana facing economic difficulties.
Below is the post from Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and documents to back his latest claim.
