The Education of Corruption

The Education of Corruption
27.05.2023 LISTEN

Ghana's 1992 Constitution is a perfect example of the destruction of a nation at the hands of corruption. Not only is the Indemnity Clause (corruption cases before 1992 are not able to be prosecuted to allow a fresh new start) but other provisions also the blueprint of keeping a nation in the bondage of poverty and exploitation.

The Deputy Minister for Communications under NDC President JD Mahama, a very young lady with no professional experience but well-shaped to please the eye of an African man, was bugged by her driver. While she sat in the back of the limousine he secretly recorded her call in which she said that she intended to make $ 1 Mio. from her position given.

Ghana has anti-corruption laws dusted in the archives of Flagstaff House, the Office of the President. Special Prosecutor is in place. The two rotating ruling parties NDC and NPP make a loud noise about government corruption while in opposition. Yet not too loud, not too harmful as when in government the opposition should not send them to jail.

The form of governance under the 1992 Constitution promotes corruption. To become an MP or President application forms must be paid for by the Electoral Commission EC never heard of in Germany. The election campaigns must be privately financed, and the favors are given or savings accounts emptied returned and filled up again. As Ghana's financial elite stays away from the parliament seats only people with no job or little substantial professional experience use politics as a source of income and sit on the China-made chairs in the national parliament.

The party flag bearer and ordinary MPs must seek internal approval from party members. Party local and national Chairman and Secretaries play a vital role in the selection and acceptance process which the ordinary members mainly follow. A candidate with a serious mind to fight corruption not only as lip talk is seen as a threat to the common practice of corruption be it big or small. Corrupt leadership will not promote someone who could potentially bring them to jail. This creates and educates further generations of corrupt politicians spinning the vicious circle of constant Nations downfall. The politicians are all not to be blamed for their work as they only perform on what they know they follow the herd and sheep before them. White people who migrated to Ghana or having Ghana as its home would never be allowed to stand as MPs or Presidential candidates even holding Ghana passports in their hands.

As the power is invested in the people of the land the responsibility to end the misery inflicted on them lies as well in their power only.

The 1992 Constitution does not give A-level graduation to any politician in Ghana therefore admission to the University of Politics, the Parliament, should not be granted.
