Abraham Amaliba, a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress's communication and legal team believes the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot win the 2024 general elections.

He criticized all the NPP flagbearer aspirants, stating that their involvement in the current "ill-administration" proves they have nothing good to offer.

Speaking on TV3's New Day show on Friday, May 26, he said, "The NPP horse is sick, so it doesn't matter who mounts the horse, they cannot win the race."

Mr. Amaliba further assessed the strengths of the NPP's flagbearer frontrunners, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

He described Dr. Bawumia as a liar and a joker who is unfit for the purpose and has nothing good to offer the country.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, you see him, you see lies. Immediately the man comes out, you see him, you see q joker. He is not fit for the purpose,” he said about the Vice President.

Regarding Alan's candidacy, Mr. Amaliba said, "He sat too long in this corrupt regime to the extent that we didn't hear him say anything against the administration's ill practices. He needs to rebrand, and that will take him four to eight years."

He emphasized that Ghanaians, who have suffered due to the NPP government's actions, will not give them another chance.

"So clearly, it doesn’t matter who comes, this country will look at their economy and the economy is in everybody’s pocket. And when they look at that, this government can not survive because they have brought so much pain to families," he stated.
