The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has expressed his 'anger' over what he perceives as 'unfair treatment of NDC polling agents in the Kumawu by-election.

He complained that the NDC polling agents have been asked to sit at a place farther than the usual range they are expected to sit for effective monitoring and observation of the election process.

Mr Nketia, who was present on the ground today in Kumawu to monitor the election, was seen in a video footage posted by GTV registering his concerns regarding the alleged mistreatment of his party's agents.

"He (the agent) is supposed to see what is going on here and that is why he is an observer. He's been granted accreditation from the Electoral Commission to come and observe the election. So why do you give him a farther place to sit?” he said.

“Let them be at a spot where they can clearly see what goes on on the verification machine. The verification machine is very important so come and sit closer to it,” he continued while instructing the NDC polling agents to get closer.

He further accused election officials of deliberately obstructing NDC polling agents from carrying out their duties effectively.
