A man who went looking for a companion for the night ended up wooing a fellow man dressed up in women's clothin, but for the intervention of the Neighbourhood Watch Committee, he would have been robbed by the 'man-woman'.

As the man was negotiating with the supposed woman, members of Fitter Lane Neighbourhood Watch Committee, who were on patrol, became suspicious and went closer.

The 'woman' then took to her heels. After a hot chase, 'she' was arrested and upon examination, found to be a man wearing artificial breasts, who had padded his backside, put on earrings, a necklace, a skirt and a blouse.

DSP Frank Awu, Ashaiman District Police Commander who confirmed the story to the Times said the suspect, identified later as Richard Arhin, 21 will be put before court.

He said that following reports that some robbers within the Tema metropolis had adopted the trick of posing as female prostitues at night to lure unsuspecting patrons, the police alerted neighbourhood watch committees to be on the look-out for such persons.

Areas where the gangsters operate most are Asensu Bar, Old Tulaku, Fitters Lane.
