Barrister Recommends New Parliament In Sunyani

Listen to article

A barrister and lecture, at the Ghana Law School, Dr Ebo Bondzie Simpson, says relocating Parliament to the Brong Ahafo Region will make it easily accessible to all the country's constituencies. Dr Bondzie Simpson's proposal coincides with plans to build a new house of Parliament.

According to Dr Bondzie Simpson, Sunyani has enough land and the necessary infrastructure for the project; thus making the Region a strategic location and facilitating business transaction at Parliament.

'My proposal is not to relocate the capital to the Brong Ahafo Region, my proposal is to relocate Parliament, in particular, to Sunyani', Dr Bondzie Simpson said.

'This Parliament is in the process of getting a structure in place and that process has yet not been finalized, so that effort and that expense might as well be put in funding the structure permanently at a place like Sunyani', Mr Bondzie added.
