Flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has intensified his campaign for the upcoming party polls.

The former Bank of Ghana Governor is currently in the Volta Region where he has been engaging branch and constituency executives.

Speaking to party followers who came out in their numbers to support his campaign on day two of the Volta Regional tour, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor stressed that people who work for the party must be treated well.

He promised that when elected flagbearer he will institute a pension scheme to take care of the aged.

In addition, he said all party workers and executives will work in offices and will be paid very well.

“We will build party offices for each region and all constituencies across the country and pay the workers and executives.

“The cadres who formed the party for us we have to honour them. What most of them are going through now is not fair. We should be able to put in place a pension scheme for the aged and cadres so that they can pay their medical bills and have a decent livelihood,” Dr. Kwabena Duffuor shared.

The successful businessman and politician is hoping to defeat favourite John Dramani Mahama in the NDC flagbearer election.

The polls will be held at the primaries of the party scheduled to be held on May 13.
