The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has admonished all members of the Majority Caucus to be present in Parliament today for the voting on the approval of new ministerial appointees.

In a press release signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, it said, “the leadership of the New Patriotic Party, following the outcome of the proceedings of Parliament on Thursday, March 23, 2023, hereby urges all members of the Majority Caucus to be present at the House to fully participate in all parliamentary proceedings and voting scheduled for the day.”

The NPP notes that it continues to appreciate the efforts of the Majority Caucus in getting the business of the House done despite its latent challenges.

The NPP leadership further entreats the Majority Caucus especially, the Whips to ensure that no member of the Caucus absent himself or herself from the House today Friday, March 24, to get Government Business accomplished in the supreme interest of the country.

The party also stresses that it is committed to supporting and rallying behind the government in achieving the desired economic transformation for the good people of Ghana.

Following the conclusion of the debate on the appointment of the new ministerial nominees, the voting is expected to happen today.

The Minority Caucus during the debate made it clear that they will not help in the approval process.

The Minority argues that the number of Ministers must be reduced in the midst of the current economic crisis.
