All is set for the Tuesday's People's Assembly to be held in the Brong Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani. The event is expected to offer people from all walks of life, the opportunity to seek answers to questions bordering on national interest and development.

The People's Assembly was started in the year 2001 in the national capital, and in expected to go round all regional capitals of the country.

In an interview with Ghananewstoday, Government Spokesperson on Governance, Mr Frank Agyakum, said the Parish Council Hall of the Christ the King Parish of the Catholic Church has been put in order for the event.

According to him, a huge crowd is expected at the venue of the meeting.

Reacting to the assertion that the People's Assembly has become a mere talk shop, Mr Frank Agyekum told Ghananewstoday that real solutions have been found to many questions that have been posed at the People's Assembly in the past.

Critics of the People's Assembly say the event in the past has been used as a platform for perceived praise singers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), but Frank Agyakum dismissed all such assertions.

Mr Agyekum said this year’s People's Assembly is special, since it marks Ghana's 50th Anniversary of Ghana's independence.
