Ghanaian football manager, Isaac "Opeele" Boateng has declared his support for Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia in the ruling party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
He stated that he will ditch the party for NDC if they vote against the vice president in the yet-to-be-scheduled primaries.
In a tweet on Sunday, March 12, the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko sporting club coach asserted that he will support former President John Mahama if his favorite, Bawumia, is not made the NPP’s flagbearer.
"If these NPP bigwigs seek their interest to run Dr Bawumia down..Then mind you, if Dr Bawumia doesn't win the NPP primaries..
"My tweets will 100% campaign for H.E. John Mahama in 2024. I have interest in JM gov't too. What will go to corner should go to throw for us all," he tweeted.
Meanwhile, some party stalwarts like Mr. Francis Addai Nimo, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and others are preparing to lead the NPP to break the 8 in the 2024 general elections.
