2 Wa Communities Clash Over Land

FOUR people were injured in a clash between the Kunikayiris and Jageyiris of Charia, a farming community in the municipality of the Upper West Region over a piece of land.
The four received various degrees of cutlass wounds and were rushed to the Wa Regional Hospital where they were treated and discharged.
Detective Police Inspector Samuel Amidu of the Regional Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, who confirmed the story to the Times here, gave the names as Damba Abdulai, Africanus Adisa, Hillary Damba and Achilles Ayelbozie.
Detective Inspector Amidu revealed that there has been a land dispute between the Kankariyis and Jageyiris and on January 4, Seidu Zinbani engaged a mason to dig him a foundation for the building.
He said while the digging of the foundation was in progress, Butarinaa Abdulai from Zumachira, led some youth armed with sticks and cutlasses to attack those engaged in the foundation digging.
They beat them up injuring the four in the process in the process.
No arrests have been made by the police.
