IIJ Alumuni Hold Regional Conference

Ms. Ajoa-Yeboah-Afari, Editor of the Ghanaian Times, an alumnus, contributing to a discussion at the Africa Alumni meeting in Accra of the International Institute of Journalism, Berlin, Germany.
The five-day meeting, which has brought together past students of the institute from countries across Africa, provides a platform for the discussion of how future IIJ activities should be designed in order to meet the needs of African journalists, taking into consideration the current political and economic situation of the continent.
The meeting, which is a follow-up of training sessions in Berlin, Germany, was planned as part of the second ‘Partnership with Africa’ conference to be held in Accra under the auspices of President J. A. Kufuor and President Horst Kohler of Germany from January 12 to 14.
It was opened at the Ghana International Press Centre, Accra, by Dr Gudrun Kocherndorfer-Lucius, Managing Director of Inwent or Capacity Building International of Germany.
