Roman Empire employed 3500 firefighters in ancient Rome most of them former slaves. After 6 years of service, they got full citizenship equal to the rest of the 1 million inhabitants, a city built on 13 Square kilometers.

Roman Imperator Gesperian ordered the building of open public places men were able to urinate in amphoras. Once filled they were traded as commercial goods. Urine was precious used e.g., to soften leather or as an ingredient in medicines. The Imperator taxed the harvested urine as part of the state budget. The popular phrase "Money does not stink" is based on the wisdom of the Imperator.

In Ghana, Urine is collected from manholes of houses and office buildings and dumped at e.g., Lavender Hill into the ocean to destroy the maritime life along the shoreline in the 21st century and 66 years after independence.

In Hamburg, like all across Germany, sewage is collected by underground pipes and treated at central facilities to generate gas and electricity besides goods for agriculture. The Hamburg sewage system was invented by the British engineer William Lindley over 175 years ago.

While in western societies white ladies get angry when their husbands use the toilet while standing African ladies most of the time do as white men do. To use public toilets in most African countries and most of their places is a hazardous undertaking as bacteria easily enter the private parts of women and men alike. The business of having to get rid of digestion leftovers is fascinating in many ways. "Let's make business together" dates back to Roman times when men sat side by side on long walls like stones to ease themselves chatting along about business and politics.

Romans took great care and pride to keep these public places hygienic and in good shape. African countries over 2000 years later ignore what history and the present time is lecturing mankind.
