The Minister in charge of Education, Paapa Owusu Ankomah, says no polytechnic council is currently operating illegally.
PNDC law 321, which establishes the polytechnic councils, mandates them to stay in office for a maximum of two years.
Papa Owusu Ankomah has however told Ghananewstoday that the mandate of these councils had been extended by his Ministry and that these councils therefore remain legal.
Paapa Owusu Ankomah called on the NUPAG to make specific statements regarding issues they are dissatisfied with to his Ministry, for appropriate attention.
