Fake Cedi Notes In Circulation

THE Ministry of Information and National Orientation has alerted the public about the circulation of counterfeit cedis notes, especially the ¢20,000 denomination, at Aflao and its environs.
It has advised members of the public, especially residents of Aflao, to be vigilant and to report any suspicious persons in possession of fake cedi currency to the security agencies.
A statement signed by D.A. Kwapong, acting Director of the Information Services Department, said some business executives as well as operators of entertainment spots and chop bars in the areas had complained about the circulation of the fake notes during the Christmas period.
