Feature Article Koku Anyidoho, Do You Realize That You Occasionally Display Symptoms Of Mental Illness?
FEB 4, 2023 LISTEN

Koku Anyidoho, many people now often experience tantrums and protracted depression. Even though mental health is crucial for a good existence, millions of individuals worldwide suffer from anxiety, fear, loneliness, and depression without having access to the high-quality care and support they require. Please accept my sincere apologies for having to inform you that for a very long time, I have seen that you periodically exhibit symptoms of mental depression. I wonder if you are aware of this.

I write about people, but I also research and observe their behavior as a writer. I think it's possible to say that this is my first article about you, Mr. Anyidoho. It’s crucial because thousands of people who suffer from mental illnesses are unable to critically assess their situation or accept responsibility for their acts, allowing them to seek psychiatric assistance. Mr. Anyidoho, I may be mistaken, but I still feel the need to write in case this article helps you to take the right measures.

The Atta-Mills family has occasionally received an apology from Koku Anyidoho, who then acts the same way the next day. This gives me the impression that he may be hiding a mental illness, so he needs to consult a psychiatrist for treatment.

Both happiness and rage are normal human emotions, however, when someone exhibits anger frequently, it may indicate that they are depressed. When someone starts displaying excessive rage, aggressiveness, and baseless allegations against others, it can be very challenging to grasp what is going on in their head. Under the late president John Atta Mills, Mr. Anyidoho served as head of communications for the NDC party.

It's possible that Anyidoho saw some unpleasant things between the late president John Atta-Mills and the previous president of Ghana when John Mahama was the vice president. My question is that if the vice-president did commit any crime against John Atta-Mills and probably wouldn’t like Ghanaians to know about it why Mr. Anyidoho failed not to inform the police of any wrongdoings committed by John Mahama but doing these things after his suspension from the party.

To the best of my understanding, this all began following Koku Anyidoho's suspension from his position as general secretary of the party. How often will Mr. Anyidoho discuss the same topic? I don't understand him. His regular appearances in the media to cast blame or make critical statements about Mahama no longer interest me but repeating the same things about Atta-Mills and John Mahama, gives me the feeling that Mr. Anyidoho may be depressed or has a mental illness he is not unaware of it.

Many people suffer from mental illness, but they are unaware of it; Koku Anyidoho, in my opinion, is one of them. Some people may appear normal, but they may have a serious enough mental condition that they are completely unaware of it. Is Anyidoho's family keeping something from Ghanaians? On the other side, mental diseases are sometimes spoken in whispers, even within families, to avoid revealing the actual damage and encouraging stigma and prejudice. I need to know this.

For example, I used to work at a restaurant a few years ago. One of my coworkers is so awful that she is unaware of her issue. It hasn't just been a day or two; she always stinks around me at the restaurant, especially from her armpits. She also never brushes her teeth, so her mouth also stinks. I find it tough to talk to her because I'm a man.

The only thing I could do was inform the restaurant's management, but one day, when I finally had enough, I went to the store and bought a woman's deodorant as a gift for her. My employer called me while I was at work and the query was I purchased the woman the deodorant, and she took it home to show her husband. The enraged husband then came over with his stinky wife to complain about me for purchasing his wife a deodorant. I was there for three years, but the woman lost her job.

Why am I telling this story? It's because many people are ill but are unaware of it. Some people's mental illness or depression is so severe that they can't even smell that they stink or are unaware that they have that problem. Ghanaians will concur with me that Mr. Anyidoho speaks excessively, and speaking too much is one of the signs of depression, including feeling sad, strong highs and lows in mood, an inability to handle stress or issues in daily life, excessive worry or anxiety and intense guilt feelings.

If Koku Anyidoho were to do this against the NPP, I do not doubt that many Ghanaians would accuse him of being paid by the NDC to ruin the name of the party. The man now associates with both the NDC and the NPP, acting like a political pimp but concentrating on undermining the legitimacy of the party and John Mahama, the former president of Ghana. I'm not sure why he continues saying the same thing over and over, but it makes me think he could be ill.

Mr. Anyidoho is discrediting himself and cultivating hostility with his current or former party. I'm aware that his family supports and loves him, but I'm not sure what counsel he receives from them. Everyone will eventually pass away, but what legacy have you left behind? Will it make your family happy if any NDC politician declines to attend your funeral when you pass away?

Instead of damaging the NDC's name, you should rather have tried to establish greater communication with your party because no one can predict the future. Now and then, you'll apologize to the Atta-Mills family and then act in the same manner the next day. These are the problems that make me think you might be mentally unwell, so I'll strongly suggest you see a psychiatrist so you can start taking medications right away if you have any unrecognized psychological problems.
