Minority Leader of Parliament, Cassiel Ato Forson has come under intense criticism following his condemnation of the ban on the importation of used home appliances into the country.

The Minority Leader, in a tweet on Saturday, January 28, posted photos of banned items such as televisions and computers and others describing the move as "insensitive."

"Folks, The NPP government has banned the importation of the following used items: 1. TV set 2. Computers, etc. This is insensitive!" read his tweet.

In a counter-tweet, the Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh also described Ato Forson's January 28 tweet as wrong and unacceptable.

Annoh-Dompreh, who is the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, called out the former Minority Spokesperson on Finance to apologise to Parliament and the Energy Minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh for making such a misfired public comment.

The Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP also tasked Mr. Ato Forson to quickly delete since the policy by the government was for the good of Ghanaians.

"Ato my friend, you got this wrong. Your comment is wrong and unacceptable. Simply pull it down and render an unqualified apology to Parliament, particularly the Sector Minister. You misfired, my friend. There is no shame, bro," Annoh-Dompreh’s tweet read.
