MTN Ayoba targets 100 million active users by 2025 after surpassing 2 million milestone in Ghana

The MTN Ayoba Mobile Application has gained massive traction in the past year with over 2 million active users currently using the platform to satisfy various needs.

Launched in 2019, MTN Ayoba is an all-in-one app that offers users free access to an ecosystem of digital and rich media services through channels, micro-apps, and payment solutions.

Users on the app can send and receive encrypted messages, share photos, videos, and files, send and receive voice notes, make voice and video calls while having access to countless channels to consume interesting content.

Engaging the media in Accra on Thursday, December 8, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Simfy (MTN Ayoba), Burak Akinci said the target after making significant strides not only in Ghana but on the African continent is to reach 100 million active users by 2025.

“We are targeting 100 million active users for the end of 2025. It’s our ambition and we are on track to reach that. Growth around 50% is normal and we want to grow at least 50% each year in trying to reach our target of 100 million active users at the end of 2025,” he said.

According to Burak Akinci, with MTN providing access to the App to subscribers without data charges, the goal is to ensure users enjoy the best service.

“We are trying by to create what is the best for the African people…..We are building very good chat, voice, and video features

“We are coming up with services so that everyone can get in touch with their loved ones….Combined with our features and MTN Ghana zero data, you can chat with everyone.

“We are bringing high-quality content to our users on our channels….We are growing steadily not only in Ghana but across Africa,” the CEO of MTN Ayoba said.

Plan to help startups and content creators:
Speaking to journalists, Burak Akinci emphasised that MTN Ayoba is keen on working with partners including users of the App.

He noted that to continue growing, they believe that startups and content creators must be given the chance to get on the platform.

The MTN Ayoba CEO further revealed that the plan is not only to get startups and content creators to get their content on the App but to help them earn money through monetisation.

“The most important thing is partners. We see everyone who we work with as a partner on Ayoba. We want to grow together with you.

“We are in the process of integrating ads so that content providers can earn money from the platform.

“We want service providers and content providers to come on board and create their own shows and community.

“We believe SMEs and Startup community should come on board to take advantage of the many opportunities at no cost,” Burak Akinci told the media during the engagement.

Security;
Speaking on the security of the MTN Ayoba App, Burak Akinci assured that there is end-to-end encryption to protect users.

He explained, “Ayoba has this entwined encryption on the inside which is important and it is also encrypted in the server side and we are trying to also educate our users about the problems and risks in the digital world.”

Since its launch in 2019, MTN Ayoba has continued to grow and is now the Super App of Africa connecting friends, families, and loves ones wherever and whenever.

Besides the communication, content creation, and opportunity for SMEs, users can also use the MTN Ayoba App to do Mobile Money transactions.
