E/R: Afram Plains youth benefit from free aquaculture training from Family and Friends Group of Companies

In his bid to augment Government's effort to help deal with unemployment, Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II, Group Director of Family and Friends Group of Companies has initiated a program to train most youth in aquaculture in the Afram Plains of the Eastern region.

The Group Director who is also the Chief of Somsei has so far trained hundreds of youth who are now into fish farming as their daily livelihood.

Speaking to the reporter, Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II emphasised on his commitment to the well-being of the youth as future leaders and therefore promised to do more to ensure the issue of unemployment is reduced to its minimum.

He revealed his outfit will continue to support everyone who is interested in aquaculture as a profession or a part-time job and urged the youth especially to take advantage of such opportunities.

He used the platform to appeal to government, cooperate bodies and NGOs to make available resources to people interested in aquaculture so as to encourage others to follow suit.

After completion of the free practical based training programme, trainees were given certificates of participation and free fingerlings for beginners as well.
