Ghanaians are their strongest enemies

Ghana goes down on many fronts, weak cedi, destroyed environment by plastics, galamsey, increased corruption, tribalism, pulling down effect by witchcraft to mention a few aspects.

Ghana was turned into a Democracy by USA intervention. Kingdoms like the Ashanti Kingdom of today Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in Kumasi got their constitutional rights taken from them to be a showcase of a rich history no longer a creating or shaping factor in the progressive development of the country. Like Otumfuo enjoying and preserving the legacy and riches of the former Ashanti Empire well known to date around West Africa and received with great honors and respect by the British Royals and House of Lords in London.

Unlike a Politician, a King has to think for his people and his Kingdom for generations to come not only for 4 or 8 years before handing over the beacon of power.

In a transition period from the colony to the status of Independence, Traditional Rulers have to help the nation-building process while being rooted in the kingdom he is responsible for. Based on the helping hand mentality needed the Kings, especially the most powerful ones, have to recalibrate their approach to help their people and the nation at large. This new role can only be fulfilled when Kings politically stay neutral as e.g. observed in the UK. Being a party member or a party supporter in the slightest form cannot be tolerated by the people.

Unlike in e.g. the UK during the transition period of dependency and development to true sovereign wealth, national stability and honest independence Traditional Rulers play a vital role to bring about a positive outcome. To achieve this given mandate by inheritance of glorious generations past Traditional Rulers have to overturn the constitutional rights of elected Politicians when needed.

The constant exchange of ideas and actions by the Traditional Rulers about Politicians' plans and actions will guarantee a better nation-building process and a positive outcome. Any suggestion otherwise and pointing fingers at party members of the opposition or friends in power does not stand the test of time. Moral values and the happiness of a nation are not partied political issues in such a critical phase for a nation to emerge from outside oppression and find peace and stability in economic, cultural, social, and political progress.

When Traditional Rulers e.g. Ghana observes their people on their own or with the help from outside destroying the beauty and progress made in their Kingdoms they have to step in and correct the wrong be it littering the environment with plastics, money stolen by corruption, buildings left uncompleted or galamsey to mention a very few aspects. Traditional Rulers failing to provide for their people justice and what is rightly in their best interest must reconsider their role on the throne and contemplate in meditation whether or not they serve their people well and should be still in line with great Traditional Rulers before them.

To be a King is not only a great title but more a great responsibility of understanding the needs of the people in the wider context of a country constantly on the move.
