NPP must be banished forever for messing up the country — Opare Addo

The National Youths Organizer of the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, has expressed disappointment how the ruling NPP is mismanaging the country's economy.

He claimed that the country has been hit hard to the extent that citizens are finding it very difficult to feed.

In a tweet on Monday, October 3, seen by Modernghana News, Mr. Opare Addo, who is seeking to be re-elected as the NDC’s Youth Organizer, asserted that the ruling party deserves to be banished from government forever for messing up the country.

“If you're not feeling it in your pocket like the rest of us, maybe the numbers will make meaning to you! We are in such a mess!! We can't afford to fail the masses. This gov't must be shown the exit door, banished forever and young people must lead this charge,” he wrote.

Ghana experienced historically high consumer inflation in August, exceeding 34%, resulting in a high standard of living as a result of astronomical price increases in general goods and services.

Ghana is the world's second most indebted country, trailing only El Salvador, according to Bloomberg's rankings of highly indebted countries.

The local currency has also suffered greatly, currently trading above GHS10 per dollar, resulting in massive losses for many indigenous businesses.

The situation has prompted government to initiate a bailout deal of 3billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to shore up the sinking economy.
