Your review of endorsement guidelines has come too late – NDC Regional Chairman hopeful to FEC

Your review of endorsement guidelines has come too late – NDC Regional Chairman hopeful to FEC
29.09.2022 LISTEN

A Greater Accra Regional Chairman hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kojo Obeng Berkoh has commended the party’s Functional Executive Council (FEC) for reviewing the endorsements guidelines for its constituency elections.

This week, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) has taken the decision to reduce the number of endorsements from 2/3 to 1/3.

In a press release from Kojo Obeng Berkoh, he says the review has come a little too late when aspirants have already gone through the tireless process in search of endorsements.

“The party's national leadership also deserves commendation for the new technological innovations to facilitate the process. However, I believe the eleventh-hour decision by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) to reduce the number of endorsements from 2/3 to 1/3 comes a little too late. Most constituency aspirants have undertaken the arduous process of the initial directive,” the Greater Accra Regional Chairman hopeful has noted in a release.

He further urges all aspiring Constituency Executives to remain steadfast while focusing on the ultimate goal to drive the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of power in 2024.

FECs REVIEW OF THE ENDORSEMENTS GUIDELINES COMMENDABLE BUT LATE

The Increasing number of party faithfuls who have shown the desire to serve in the National Democratic Congress, to drive the dysfunctional elephant back to the bush demonstrates how the NDC remains the only most credible solution the nation awaits.

I congratulate all aspirants who secured nomination forms last week to file for various positions in their Constituencies. Your tireless efforts of securing endorsements from at least 2/3 of the branches as required by Section 3 (Sub Section 3.2) of the ELECTION GUIDELINES is pure testament the NDC abounds in talents ready to sacrifice.

The party's national leadership also deserves commendation for the new technological innovations to facilitate the process. However, I believe the eleventh hour decision by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) to reduce the number of endorsements from 2/3 to 1/3 comes a little too late. Most constituency aspirants have undertaken the arduous process of the initial directive.

As a Greater Accra Regional Chairmanship hopeful, I believe this late review only benefit those of us contesting at Regional levels rather than the base where the task is most difficult.

To our constituency aspirants disgruntled by this late review, I stand with you and share in your thoughts and sentiments on this matter. However, I will advice that everyone respects the directive. Let's all support our leaders to ensure successful reorganization. Change is coming, and I am the change.

We need proactive leadership, and I am that leader.

Long live the NDC, long live Ghana
