Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has reiterated his desire to lead the party into the 2024 General Elections as its flagbearer.

Although nomination forms are not opened, a number of leading members of the ruling party have already made moves that suggest they will contest for the flagbearer position.

Speaking to GTV on the Breakfast Show on Thursday, September 22, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong stressed that he has what it takes to win the next general elections for the NPP.

According to him, he will be a fine President if given the chance to serve.

“I have indicated that I will be a contestant in the flagbearership race so it’s not something that is new. My passion is about the transformation of Ghanaians and the country. If it takes somebody to do it fine but I think I will be a fine President. I have the values and the determination and the vitality to drive the change that we need in our country,” the former NPP General Secretary said.

Due to his driving principles as a politician who focuses on the spirit of service, sacrifice and selflessness, Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong expresses confidence he will succeed.

“We tend to misunderstand the struggle that Ghana has been through, the journey that we have been through for the last 30 years. It didn’t come cheap. People had to die for this, people had to sacrifice for this, and that is why my political philosophy is based on three things. The spirit of service, sacrifice, and selflessness,” he indicated.

Should Kwabena Agyepong pursue his ambition, he is likely to face competition from Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, Alan Kyerematen, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Joe Ghartey, Kennedy Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko and some others who are believed to be interested in the flagbearership of the ruling party.
