NDC seized streets for a massive health walk

Led by the party’s Greater Accra regional Chairman Mr. Joseph Kobina Ade Coker, hundreds of NDC supporters stormed the streets of Pokuase, hinting at the new reforms in the party.

In the morning of Saturday, September 24, twin branches in Trobu Amasaman constituency, His Grace branches A and B marched from Gye Nyame House near the Happy Home Academy in Pokuase at around 5:30 AM.

The “My polling station, my key to victory 2014” health walk passed through the Pokuase township, ACP hill and ended at the Pokuase Market where the gathering was addressed by chairman Coker and the two branch chairmen, Lawyer Nii Kpakpo Samoa-Addo and Asafoatse Costy.

"I thank you all for making this walk a success, particularly to the branch chairmen. It was very thoughtful to put this together, which will help boost our party’s morale in our quest to unseat the Akyem-covered, family and friends Akufo-Addo-led NPP government," said chairman Coker.

He encouraged other branch chairmen to "organize these kinds of health walks like His grace has done today so that our party will unite again to unseat this government because businesses are dwindling under Akufo-Addo’s administration."

Mr. Ade Coker promised the next Mahama-led NDC administration will build for Pokuase a market befitting of Kumasi Kejetia market standard.

In their turn, the two branch chairmen, together with their executives, commended members for their full participation and urged the market women to vote back former President John Dramani Mahama.

On the sidelines, Mr. Ade Coker reiterated how significant such walks in the actualization of the party's come back, saying, "This is one of the most effective ways of mobilizing our people and recruiting new members to boost our growing efforts, and seeing how passersby were reacting to our walk tells us that such things will help us to clinch the seat come 2024."

He continued, "We will capitalize on these walks to attain our dreams. I will entreat my party members to stop the social media warfare in the build-up to our upcoming internal elections so we don't get to destroy people's hard-earned reputations and also not jeopardize the unity we enjoy today."

The three term regional chairman declared his intention to seek re-election. He noted that he will use his rich ideas and experience to help the party win more parliamentary seats.

"I'm coming back again as regional chairman. It's not for vanity's sake, but I want to be in the vanguard of bringing back John Dramani Mahama. It is about knowledge, not money,” he said.
