AUG 17, 2022 LISTEN

The NPP constituency secretary for the Dome-Kwabenya, Theophilus Ansah Larbi has expressed worry over Sarah Adwoa Safo’s actions on the electoral fortunes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Mr. Larbi, her absence will have huge implications on their quest to retain their seat and also help their party maintain the presidential seat in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Speaking on the Pulse show, aired on the Accra-based Joy News and monitored by Modernghana News on Tuesday, August 16, the party's constituency scribe revealed that the NPP has several potential candidates to contest Sarah Adwoa Safo in their next primaries should she run again.

According to him, Adwoa Sarfo nearly lost in the last primaries as she won with only an 8 vote difference.

“We wish her well but what she has done has caused us so much, and it may cost us in 'breaking the 8'. She is an MP for the whole constituency, but she hasn't interacted with all executives.

“We are not lacking the people to contest in the upcoming primaries. In the last elections, she won by an 8-vote margin. We are not chasing her away but it's her attitude that has brought us,” he said.

His comment follows Done-Kwabenya (MP) response to her dismissal as Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection.

The Dome-Kwanenya legislator stated in a letter to the President dated August 5 and released on Tuesday, August 16 that her dismissal will allow her to focus on her parliamentary duties to her Dome-Kwanenya constituents.
