GhanaFest 2022 is presented by the Ghana Council of Georgia, and CEO Magazines.

This was by far the most heavily attended Ghana Council festival to date, and it is only going to get bigger and better.

GhanaFest 2022 was held on Saturday, August 6 at Pinckneyville Park in Norcross, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.

In her welcoming address Ms Yvonne McCowin, President of the Ghana Council of Georgia, thanked the members of the GhanaFest Planning Team for organizing such an unprecedented event. She also thanked all the member Associations, Sponsors, Vendors, and the community for their continuing support of the GhanaFest event.

The event was kicked off by the traditional Parade of Chiefs, which was comprised of chiefs and queen mothers from the various ethnic groups in Ghana. This was followed by the introduction of all the 17 associations that make up the Ghana Council of Georgia.

Ghana Council also used the opportunity to launch a fundraising campaign for the Ghana House Project. The funds will be used to establish a community center for the Ghanaian community in Georgia.

One key attraction was the free plentiful and delicious food that was provided by the various associations under the umbrella of the Ghana Council. The event featured the second annual Ghana jollof contest. This year's jollof contest winner was Ernest Nkansah for the Ghana Association.

The entire program was skillfully managed by three MCs led by Kwame Boafo (aka Ras Armani) and the music and entertainment was by DJ Mix Master Berto.

The highlights of year's festival were the performances of special guest stars, headliners from Ghana, Samini, Kwaw Kese, Medikal, along with local performers, K-Rock, Taylor Jay and Ama Karin. The Famous DJ Akua of Washington DC also took to the stage to entertain the crowd.

"We would like to see StoneBwoy next year," screamed a section of excited youngsters.

GhanaFest is a free event for the Ghanaian community and the general public, underwritten by key sponsors for this year such as:

CEO Magazines
Quality First Home Care
The Conduah Family
WillVan Tax and Insurance

There were several other sponsors and exhibitors/vendors who participated in this year's GhanaFest.

Thanks to all our guests who showed up, our sponsors, our vendors, our MC's, our planning committee, and our affiliate organizations who participated to make Ghana Fest a tremendous success!”

We promise you the next year's event will be BIGGER and BETTER!
