Communication team member of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern region Prince Henry is unhappy with government for making Ghanaians go through what he described as stress in registering their SIM cards.

He said Ghanaians are currently going through stress just to acquire their Ghana cards which is the only identity for the registration of SIM cards.

In a statement, Prince Henry noted, "I went back to the NIA to get a replacement and was told I should write my name and come back on 25th September 2022 with a police report before they could fill another form for me to obtain a replacement of my lost Ghana card".

He is asking why the Voters' ID card is not allowed to be used as an identity to register SIM cards despite using same to register for the Ghana card.

"My question is, why are Mrs Ursula Owusu and Prof Ken Attefuah making me and many other Ghanaians go through all these problems and stress when we have our voters card of which we obtained through the use of our Ghana card to register our SIM cards," he queried.

Madam Ursula Owusu on Sunday, 31st July, 2022 extended the SIM re-registration deadline to September 30.
