A Ghanaian American general and cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Quincy Attipoe is set to receive the U.S. President's Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden.

The award, which is the highest level of the President's Volunteer Service Award, is bestowed on persons who have completed more than 4,000 hours of community service.

Dr. Attipoe was nominated in July 2022 by the Caribbean and African Faith-Based Leadership Conference for the U.S. President's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Attipoe is a man with a pure heart of service to society. As the Executive Director of Amazing Grace Missions in the United States of America and Smile Village Foundation in Ghana, he has provided and continues to provide, free dental care to children and adults in deprived communities in the Dallas, Texas, area; Africa; and Central America.

He has undertaken dental missions to Guatemala and Mexico by partnering with a Minnesota-based non-profit group, Common Hope, by offering free dental surgery services on these trips. He also distributed clothing and hygiene supplies to deprived communities he visited in these countries.

Affectionately called “Dr. Quincy,” he, with support from his non-profit organization, completed and handed over a state-of-the-art computer learning center to the residents of a village in Ghana, with the goal of helping children and students who would never have had the opportunity to even see a computer in their lifetime become computer literate.

Dr. Attipoe graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry (Texas A&M College of Dentistry) in 2007, and was a recipient of the Best of the Best award, a Waterpik Prosthodontic Award of Excellence.

An extension of his humanitarian services, Dr. Attipoe collaborated with the late former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, to offer free dental care to communities living along the banks of the Lake Volta in the Volta Region of Ghana by providing life-saving dental surgeries for both children and adults in these communities.

In view of his tremendous contributions to society, Dr. Attipoe was recognized in 2013 by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and awarded the highest Humanitarian award for his missions. He was also in 2018 recognized by MTN Ghana, one of the largest telecommunications services providers in Ghana, with the award of MTN Heroes of Change for his philanthropic works in Ghana’s education sector.

Dr. Attipoe is happily married to Mrs. Linda Attipoe, and they have four awesome children. Dr. Attipoe may have arrived in the U.S.A. with Two Suitcases and a Dream, but these achievements speak volumes of what the American dream can do in the life of a determined individual.
