Nyaho-Tamakloe Never Liked or Supported the Akufo-Addo He Knew

He spent most of the last two electoral seasons maligning and impugning the leadership integrity of the now-President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, so it makes absolutely no difference whether the old Akufo-Addo that Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe claims to have known in the past is very different or the exact diametrical opposite of the one he claims to be seeing presently (See “ 'The Akufo-Addo I Knew Is Not the One I See Now' – Nyaho-Tamakloe” Ghanaweb.com 6/24/22). He may also be described as a Founding Member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), but so are ardent and inveterate Akufo-Addo detractors like the infamous Idiot-of-Irmo, South Carolina, to wit, Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy; and Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, who was once heard to be saying that when bona fide ethnic Asantes are vying for the Presidential Nomination of the New Patriotic Party, what has a political adjunct or minority like an Akyem-descended Akufo-Addo to offer “our great elephant party and the nation”?

As well, we have NPP Founding Members like former President John Agyekum-Kufuor's Chief of Staff, who recently told the media that he and his factional camp within the New Patriotic Party have been systematically sabotaging Nana Akufo-Addo's presidential ambitions, because Nana Akufo-Addo had wanted the late Prof. Albert Adu-Boahen to be afforded a second shot at the Presidency, as a second-time-around Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, even after Mr. Agyekum-Kufuor had roundly defeated the first ever Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party in the runup to the 1996 General Election. In other words, the unmistakable assertion and observation here is that the mere fact of anybody's being described as a Founding Member of the New Patriotic Party, such as the National Democratic Congress' hired propagandists on the staff of the Ghana Web media portal have routinely and peevishly been describing Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, ought to tell Ghanaian readers and patrons of the Ghanaweb.com website and webpages more about the dirty political motives of these NDC propaganda shills on the staff of the aforementioned media establishment than anything substantive about the invariable cast of characters such as those listed above.

You see, merely being described as a Founding Member of any political party establishment in the country does not absolutely in any way establish or cement the credibility of the person so named or described in regard to the subject-matter of the issue being broached or discussed. If, indeed, as Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe claims, under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghana has been heading in the wrong direction, then, of course, it is incumbent upon the former Kufuor-appointed Ambassador to Eastern Europe to tell his audiences precisely why, in spite of Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe's vehement anti-Akufo-Addo electioneering propaganda campaign, primarily in favor of the twice democratically defeated Mr. John “European Airbus Payola” Dramani Mahama, “The Little Man from Kyebi” was twice returned to the Presidency with more than a half-million (500,000) of the valid votes cast.

And when the critic pompously asserts that Nana Akufo-Addo has been a total failure on the anti-corruption battlefront, on what comparative basis is such judgment call being made? For example, is former President Mahama's track-record on the anti-corruption fight that which his uncle-in-law is comparing to that of Nana Akufo-Addo's? And precisely when did Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe come to the realization that Nana Akufo-Addo was remarkably imbued with any formidable “willpower towards the fight against corruption,” when all the records are there for all who care to see and scrutinize, that even when he was fully imbued with the sort of “willpower” that he is talking about, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe was still dead-set against the auspicious actualization of an Akufo-Addo Presidency, which he told the global Ghanaian community was apt to be worse than the apocalyptic enslavement of Continental Africans by predatory European slavers and imperialists?

Now, if the current Special Prosecutor, barely one year in office, has not been able to achieve much in the realm of the anti-corruption fight, this is obviously because the dyed-in-the-wool National Democratic Congress' self-proclaimed “Citizen Vigilante,” Mr. Martin A B K Amidu, who first held the post for four years, flatly refused to prosecute “Government Official Number Two,” even with forensically foolproof evidence handed over to him, on a diamond platter, in the matter of the European Airbus Payola Racket, in which a then-Vice-President John Dramani Mahama unconscionably used his privileged position of public trust to literally cream Ghanaian taxpayers of the humongous extortion sum of € 5 million.

The obvious inference here, of course, is that for a man who clearly loves to religiously associate himself with the most corrupt postcolonial Ghanaian leader, in the memorable words of the late President Jeremiah “Jerry” John Rawlings, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe has absolutely no moral heft or credibility when he pretends to be even half-interested in Nana Akufo-Addo's publicly stated anti-corruption fight.
