Mahama Can Only Further Destroy Ghana, He Cannot Build or Rebuild Ghana

Mahama Can Only Further Destroy Ghana, He Cannot Build or Rebuild Ghana
14.05.2022 LISTEN

He presided over the hopelessly erratic energy supply in the country for four-and-half protracted years, and smugly and disdainfully wondered why Ghanaian businessmen and women had not been smart and creative enough to successfully work around the perennial vagaries of Dumsor which word, by the way, he had been singularly and globally ceded credit for making a household staple in the urban dictionary, at least to my knowledge and awareness. Comrade John “European Airbus Payola” Dramani Mahama visited Dumsor on the pates of the Ghanaian citizenry four-and-half years, more than any other one-term President in the history of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana. But that is not the full-story here, which is that he even custom-designed the hitherto nonexistent cabinet portfolio of the Power Ministry at the boastful request of Dr. Kwabena Donkor, the self-infatuated British-trained Economic-Management Specialist.

And for more than one year, the Pru-East, Bono-East, Constituency’s National Democratic Congress-sponsored Member of Parliament paid highfalutin lip-service in the name of finding a lasting solution to Dumsor, largely the creation of the negligent, blood-thirsty and kleptocratic junta political machine of the Jeremiah “Jerry” John Rawlings-led Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC), the direct and immediate antecedent of the present main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). Until, in the end, a torrential downpour of public outrage forced the then-President Mahama to expel Dr. Donkor from his cabinet. The expelled Power Minister would also be forced to profusely apologize to his pork-barrel paymaster for his equally gross exhibition of incompetence and clueless profligacy, and sidle sheepishly back into the nondescript and amorphous crowd of largely fortune-hunting bipartisan parliamentarians.

Clearly, in former President John “Akonfem-Kanazoe” Dramani Mahama, Ghanaian citizens and voters are faced with two major liabilities, namely, the abject lack of any remarkable creative imagination and the crippling inability to rally well-educated and professionally competent personnel to run the affairs of our dear and only one beloved country. Not very long ago, for example, the then-President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana pompously stood in the sprawling courtyard of the Manhyia Palace of His Majesty, The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu, II, who was desperate to have the ancient and world-famous Obuasi Gold Mines, recently shuttered and effectively gone out of business, reactivated so that a considerable number of jobs could be created for the teeming throngs of unemployed youths in the region.

Well, as Otumfuo Osei-Tutu publicly told Ghanaians in the runup to the 2020 General Election and in the presence of a visiting President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at the time that he made his solemn request, Comrade Mahama swore to Heaven and Hell that the Obuasi Gold Mines had been completely exhausted of all of its mineral deposits and so there was absolutely nothing that he or any other Ghanaian leader, for that matter, could do to reactivate the same. Well, guess what, Dear Reader, it would shortly turn out that Bole-Bamboi’s own Yagbonwura Kwame Gonja Ouagadagougou Dramani Mahama was, indeed, the pathologically and compulsively congenital liar that many of us avid watchers of Fourth Republican Ghanaian political culture have always known and strongly suspected him to be.

It would take the legendary “Little Man from Kyebi,” once again, to reactivate and have the Asante Goldfields Corporation employ hundreds of thousands of young men and women, a remarkable percentage of them from Kwame Gonja’s own native heartland of the Akufo-Addo-created Savannah Region, as well as the rest of the so-called Five Northern Regions. Does this sound like the same know-nothing and do-nothing singsong about the Akufo-Addo-implemented Fee-Free Senior High School Policy Initiative? You got it excellently right, Reader! By many reliable accounts, it would take at least the investment capital of at least a half-billion American dollars to resuscitate the effectively collapsed Asante Goldfields Corporation. That is the true nature and character of the hopelessly incompetent Yagbonwura Kwame Gonja. The man is hopelessly addicted to empty promises in ways that cannot be said of Oseadeeyo Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Now, what the foregoing means is that anybody who desires to see or witness any concrete and solid development projects on the ground, as it were, has absolutely no other alternative but to turn to the visionary and unprecedentedly progressive Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the very political party establishment that he leads, namely, the Danquah-Busia-Dombo-inspired neoliberal market-oriented New Patriotic Party. In barely six years at the helm of the nation’s affairs, President Akufo-Addo has facilitated the successful construction of at least 107 factories and industrial manufacturing plants, about the same number of the Kwame Nkrumah-created industrial plant facilities under the umbrella of GIHOC, that is, the Ghana Industrial Holdings Corporation, that the leaders of the National Democratic Congress, at the time called the Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC) junta, colluded and collaborated with the globally infamous Economic Demolition Squad of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and The World Bank, that is, the International Bank for (European) Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), to literally and effectively dismantle and sell off at giveaway prices to both these P/NDC leaders themselves and the overseas corporate collaborators of Messrs. Jeremiah “Jerry” John Rawlings and Dr. Kwesi Botchway, presently professionally and academically redesigned as Prof. Kwesi Botchway, and the rest of the P/NDC’s kleptocratic hoodlum pack of robber-barons.

The preceding inexcusably scandalous state of affairs may very well be the reason why the recently retired Methodist Church of Ghana’s prelate of the Obuasi Diocese, Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu, was widely quoted by the media to have admonished the former President to humbly and nobly give up on the criminally ludicrous idea of being, once again, returned to Jubilee House, so that Kwame Gonja could set about ravenously destroying the country’s fragile but fast-recovering economic fabric. We are also informed that Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu made the foregoing remark that has been attributed to him at the Methodist Conference of Ghana’s 25th Synod at the Mount Zion Methodist Church in Obuasi (See “You Would Not Even Win Power to Repeal E-Levy – Former Methodist Bishop to Mahama” Ghanaweb.com 5/6/22).

The preceding was in response to the former President’s vow to quash the recent Parliament-approved and President Akufo-Addo-ratified E-Levy Act, that is progressively aimed at protecting the Akufo-Addo Administration from resorting to loan-sharking financial institutions like the IMF and The World, in the highly unlikely event of Mr. Mahama’s being voted back to power. And here must also be significantly recalled the fact that in the wake of his seismic defeat in the 2016 Presidential Election by then-Candidate Akufo-Addo, Mr. Mahama also promised to scrap Nana Akufo-Addo’s landmark implementation of the Fee-Free Senior High School System. This is a Wanton and Merciless Destroyer Hell, not the divinely and “inscrutably” preordained leader that Yagbonwura Kwame Gonja claimed to be in the wake of the highly suspicious “palatial” death of President John Evans Atta-Mills.
