The 2022 edition of the Africa Public Sector Conference & Awards (APSCA) kicked off in Accra, Ghana on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

The two-day event is the third edition since the Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards was conceived.

On the first day, the organisers, InstinctWave put together a fantastic conference that featured thought leaders from different African countries to deliberate on the theme “Repositioning Africa's public sector for Sustainable Development”.

Throughout the various panel sessions at the conference, experts in various fields from different African countries shared ideas on topics such as; Driving innovation under the constraints of the public sector, Leveraging technology for efficient public service delivery, Transformation in the local government sector, the role of energy in sustainable development in Powering up Africa’s economy, as well as the role of entrepreneurship and tourism in national development.

During the awards night scheduled for day two on Friday, May 13, 2022, the event's Chief Host, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be delivering a keynote address on the theme for APSCA 2022: "Repositioning Africa's public sector for Sustainable Development."

Taking into consideration the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on African governments and key public sector agencies involved in battling the pandemic, recognition will be bestowed on outstanding public servants who have showcased excellence in policy innovation and exceptional leadership at various levels of governance during the pandemic.

Stakeholders, both private and public that have supported their governments in these tough times in various ways; either through technology or service support will be recognized at the gala night APSCA 2022.

Tomorrow’s gala will be held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra. A red carpet for the gala is slated to start at 18:00GMT.
