Our Destiny Is The Hands Of Principleless Bootlicking Bread And Butter Politicians.

Whither Ghana? The worst thing that ever happened to our dear country is the introduction of Democracy. Democracy is effective and powerful only if the all the people involved in the democratic process understand the issues that concern them and the reason why they vote! I know that a lot of book long people are going to lambast me the most vicious of invectives after reading this article. In the olden days when Nanamon ruled over us, there was no democracy but everything was O.K.

Nana decided that there would be communal work and no-one dared absent themselves. The elders were sincere or at least majority of them were. Everyone paid their tax in the form of foodstuff to sent to Nana without question. When there was a misunderstanding, no matter how serious, all that Nana had to say is “ I have put my foot on it” and it ended there.

Then came the Whiteman with his brand of government called Democracy which was foisted on us.

The White was cunning and wanted to keep us always under his influence. So in training manpower, he decided it would be better to encourage more people to become lawyers than scientists, because scientist would hasten our economic progress and reduce our dependence on the West, Lawyers on the other hand would help them establish their dominance over us because they by the nature of their profession promote divisions for personal gains; they would encourage families to litigate.

These unfortunately have always formed the majority of Ghanaian middle class; and the bulk of our politicians. They have always pressed for democracy knowing that the largely semi-illiterate Ghanaian populace do not understand the actual workings of democracy so it would be to their advantage.

The tell us that politics if about numbers, but it is not true , it is about principles, In countries where politics is refined, the politicians are principled. They do not think about their own stomachs and their families first over the interest of the nation.

When Tony Blair decided to go to war in Iraq, senior ministers in his government resigned on the grounds of principles, they did not think about their own privileges, they thought about the interest of the nation first.

Which of our politicians can do this? Just imagine the amount of carpet crossing that is going on at our parliament!

The Kwadjo Asantes, Mike Gizmos, Ashanti royals and a large number of politicians who gorged themselves to puking point on the Ghanaian public under the previous government now want to tell us that they didn't like the previous system under which they served with gleeful alacrity.

The Kwaku Nduoms and Babyface whatevers dumping their principles and running to join the government because of bread and butter. Shame, shame shame on all you political Oholah and Oholibahs.(read Ezekiel in the bible). You allow yourselves to be bought with influence!

For as long as this farcical democracy exist, there will never be any development and progress in Ghana. This present crop of politicians need to be voted into history. We need a new brand of politicians, ones with conviction, not avaricious prevaricating bread and butter bootlickers..
