NDC 'The people of Ghana need NDC, they're pleading with us to police the ballots in 2024' – John Jinapor
JAN 27, 2022 LISTEN

The people of Ghana need the NDC, says John Abu Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusugwu in the Savanna Region.

According to him, the country’s economy led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the Chairman of the Economic Management Team (EMT) is in tatters.

Speaking at the NDC’s Town Hall Meeting at Kumasi in the Ashanti region said, as a result of the worsening economic situation Ghanaians are yearning for the comeback of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

"The people of Ghana need the NDC. The people of Ghana are yearning for the NDC. Wherever I go, people tell us Hon. Jinapor we will vote for you but we plead that you’ll be vigilant to police the ballots”

Speaking on the government’s e-levy, he said with an amount of Ghc1,000, one is expected to lose close to Ghc100 in a transaction among three people.

He said in spite of the brouhaha surrounding the e-levy, the vice president has failed to comment on it. “Dr. Bawumia must speak on the e-levy today so that we know his position on the e-levy. We want to know the position of the Chairman of the Economic Management Team as far as this e-levy is concerned.”

According to him, as a result of poor economic management, investors are shying away from Ghana due to high inflation.

He added that worker agitations are on the rise, with lecturers on strike, NABCO trainees not being paid for months, hike in fuel prices, high food prices and reduction in purchasing power.

But he believes the comeback of the NDC will restore the economy back on track when it assumes power come 2025.

“…and I know by the grace of the Almighty God, we will be the next government come 7, January 2025.”
