Amansie West District Assembly has held its third ordinary meeting to mark the end of year meetings of the Assembly on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the District Assembly's Hall, to deliberate on the issues and businesses of the Assembly.

All the elected Assembly Members and government appointees, and heads of departments and other units in the district were present at the day long meeting.

The District Chief Executive of the Assembly, Hon. Nii Ollenu Lartey, expressed his appreciation for the support given him by members of the Assembly in the few days after his confirmation.

He expresses his profound gratitude to the Assembly Members and Heads of Departments and Units for making his tenure very fruitful.

Hon. Ollenu lauded the cooperation and support of the Assembly Members saying, “I must confess that I have enjoyed your cooperation and support these years of my ascension to this high office made possible by your good selves.”

The DCE noted that the daily routine of the assembly in 2021 has been splendid considering the number of developmental projects he was able to chalk in the various electoral areas as compared to the previous years, the revenue and income generated from District, IGF and other sectors evidently shows success.

Hon. Ollenu added that the Assembly has taken note of the faulty street lights in the various communities and towns.

According to him, the district has received 150 bulbs from the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council which will be shared with the Assembly Members for onward distribution to their various electoral area.

He indicated that numerous projects are underway in the District such as the Manso Nkwanta nursing training college, deplorable roads awarded on contract, four teachers quarters at Moseaso to be installed with mechanized borehole and an office complex to be completed in March 2022.

He indicated that the Assembly has gone through the subcommittee reports and have accepted some of the recommendations going forward.

“I will urge honourable Assembly Members to act as a matter of urgency and concern draw the attention of the police any possible threat as we are in this festive season. Because the Assembly has provided the needed support to the police to carry on effective work in the district,” the DCE emphasised.
