Leading youth Islamic scholar, Shayk Imam Alhassan Issah has extended a word of advice to Senior High School graduates to check their WASSCE results in earnest.

He said it will help them plan on what to do next if it did not go in their favour.

According to him, harbouring fear about checking the results only increases anxiety and stress.

"I know how it feels to fail an examination. Regardless of the outcome, let not be disturbed. But rather figure out the next step," he stated.

Shayk Issah's comments come as the provisional results for the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been released.

In a statement, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) said it has released provisional results of the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates.

The Council said it will dispatch the results to the schools, and candidates are advised to contact their heads of school for their hard copy results. However, candidates can access their results at the Council’s website or dial the short code *944#

Meanwhile, the examination council has hinted the body is withholding some 3,667 candidates results pending investigations into various malpractices.

The Council added that 1,339 subject results and 174 entire results have been cancelled for various examination malpractices such as bringing foreign material including mobile phones into the examination hall, tearing off parts of question papers and collusion.

This follows the approval of the 31st Meeting of the Ghana Examinations Committee held in October 2021.
