Education GES begins sensitisation on guidelines for selection into SHS
NOV 22, 2021 LISTEN

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of the sensitisation and education on the 2021 guidelines for School selection into Senior High Schools (SHSs) on Tuesday, November 23.

The Exercise is targeted at Junior High School(JHS) leavers who took part in the just ended Basic Certificate Education Examinations (BECE).

The Exercise is expected to take place in all Regional, District Education Directorates and Schools across the country.

A statement issued by the GES, signed by its Head, Public Relations Unit, Monday, 21 November 2021, urged “all stakeholders to watch out for infographics, short videos in nine Ghanaian languages, flyers and physical presence of officers in all districts, communities and schools to embark on the sensitisation drive.”

The GES advised parents and guardians to “take keen interest in the selection of schools processes to ensure a smooth Placement this year.”

It added that: “There would be an opportunity for candidates to text to a short code and confirm their school choices before actual Placement will be done.”

This year’s BECE began on Monday, 15 November 2021.

The 5-day exam was written at all 2,158 centres across the country.

The GES had earlier announced that the school selection process will commence after the BECE.
