Dr. Kwamina Obo Quansah, a keen sports analyst and administrator will deliver this year's resumed fifth annual Ohene Djan Memorial Lectures. It comes on at Novotel on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 10:00am.
Dr. Kofi Amoah, President, Progeny Ventures International (PVI) Ghana, member of Ghana Investor's Advisory Council (GIAC) and Chairman of CAN 2008 Bid Committee will be the chairman of this year's lecture which has the theme "The Man Ohene Djan - His relevance to contemporary sports promotion and development".
The resumption which of the lectures first handled by Professor J.E. Atta Mills then veteran sportsman, in 1988 has been necessitated by the downward slump in the country's sports.
The lectures which often provokes many controversies and incidents which have been the bane in the vibrant sports activities which the late sport administrator, Ohene Djan championed has also been addressed by Professor George Benneh, a former Vice Chamcellor of the University of Ghana, the late Sam Ansah Okyere former chief executive, Goldfields and Nana Gyamfi aka C.K. Gyamfi an international soccer coach.
Dr. Quansah, the eminent medical practitioner is credited with many thought provoking newspaper articles in soccer, boxing , athletics whose membership he has served in his long association with sports.
