Two armed robbers killed in gun battle with police in Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Regional Police Anti-robbery Patrol team on Wednesday, November 18, 2021, gunned down two suspected armed robbers on the Manso-Nkwanta road in the Amansie West District.

Per information gathered, a gang of armed robbers attempted to rob some traders plying the Manso-Nkwanta Road.

In the process, the anti-robbery patrol team who were on patrol chanced upon the robbers and intervened.

During the exchanges between the armed robbers and the police, the security men gunned down two of the suspects and succeeded in one other robber who attempted to escape but failed.

The incident led to the retrieval of AK 47 assault rifles that were used by the robbers for the operation.

This operation comes as just one of many that have been carried out by the Ashanti Regional Command through its anti-robbery patrol team.

The Ashanti regional police command says ahead of the festive season, it is on alert and will provide the needed protection to keep residents including travelers safe.

Meanwhile, the general public is being urged to help the police to fight crime by providing important information no matter how little to help their work.
