This year's University of Ghana Inter-Hall Cross Country competition will be held at Legon on Friday, November One.

Mr Ben Denkabe, President of the Almagamated Sports of the University who announced this at the launch of the competition at Legon on Thursday said all the five halls of the university would be taking part in the competition which is being sponsored by Wonder Foods Limited.

He named the halls as Akuafo, Mensah Sarbah, Commonwealth,Volta and Legon Hall.

The competition, Mr Denkabe said, is aimed at selecting the university's team for this year's Unilever Universities Inter-Cross Country competition scheduled for Kumasi from November 21 to 23.

Mr Festus Tettey, Communications Co-ordinator of Wonder Foods Limited said the sponsorship is the company's contribution towards the promotion of sports at the university.

He said the company would continue to assist the university in the ensuing years.

Professor Edward Ofori-Sarpong, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university thanked the company for coming to the aid of the university.

He said when Unilever withdrew its sponsorship some years ago, it became a burden for the authorities to host the programme.

Prof. Ofori-Sarpong appealed to other corporate bodies and organisations to come to the aid of the university by sponsoring some of the sporting activities.
