Ghanaian Fighters Excel In Korea

Ghana on Tuesday won three medals at the just ended annual Korean Open Taekwando Championships in Korea. Two out of the five boxers managed to grab 3 medals in a pool of about 80 fighters Worldwide.

Despite their late arrival Mohammed Munim Issifu won silver in breaking and a Bronx in pumpsy (Taekwando form). He however lost in the quarter finals of the fighting technique when he drew with a Danish but was ruled in favour of the later.

His compatriot Muktari Kadiri also won Silver in the fighting division at his weight level. All the fighters were grateful to the Ghanaian high commission in Korea for the support till the competition ended on Tuesday.

The team that was optimistic of winning medals at the just ended 11th Common Wealth games in Manchester but did not represent will continue to U.S.A. to prepare for the 8th. All African games in Nigeria in 2003.
