A former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko has charged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) especially followers in the Eastern Region to work extra hard to break the eight.

Speaking at the Eastern Regional delegates conference of the NPP last week, Boakye Agyarko stressed that breaking the eight is doable.

According to the economist, a lot of hard work is however needed to make the dream possible.

He argued that the NPP struggled in the 2020 general elections, leading to the loss of over 30 parliamentary seats.

In preparing for the 2024 general elections, Boakye Agyarko wants the NPP in the Eastern Region to work very hard to cushion the party to victory.

“We struggled in the elections, in one election we lost 32 seats, in one election the presidential majority dropped by 500,000 votes. That is a clear indication that we have a lot of work to do,” he said.

Mr. Agyarko added, “The work depends on Eastern Region, we have to ensure that this doesn’t occur in the next election.”

Expressing his readiness to support the NPP in every capacity, Boakye Agyarko has also admonished followers of the ruling party to strive to stay in power for over 60 years.
