One of the beneficiaries of MTN Bright Scholarship program, Dikono Adinani says he dreams of starting a charity foundation in his hometown to help other brilliant but needy youth in the area.

He says he is obliged to replicate the kind gesture MTN Foundation given him, to other needy persons in his small farming community in the Upper West Region.

Mr. Adinani who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance on Thursday expressed gratitude to Ghana’s leading telecommunication company for sponsoring him through tertiary education.

He was part of four beneficiaries of the MTN Bright Scholarship Program who completed various courses at the University of Professional Studies (UPS).

The rest are Ebo Krampah, Bsc Accounting, Solomon Ofori Kwafo, Bsc Acturial Science and Matilda Eshun.

Sharing the challenges they faced after their second cycle education, they all stressed the difficulty in accessing tertiary education, had they not gained the Bright scholarship.

They were part of some 300 intelligent students who had the opportunity to benefit from the program.

The MTN Bright Scholarship, which was initiated in 2018 was in fulfillment of a commitment MTN made to Ghanaians during the commemoration of its 20th Anniversary in 2016.

During the celebrations, MTN, through its charity arm the MTN Ghana Foundation promised to award a total of 300 scholarships over a period of three years.

The Scholarship provides badly needed financial assistance to needy and brilliant students in public tertiary institutions.

It covers the cost of tuition, accommodation, a stipend for books and other relevant reading materials for the entire duration of their studies.
