Mr Makafui Kofi Wanya, the Volta Regional Chairman for New Patriotic Party (NPP) and eight other government appointees have had their appointments revoked from the Keta Municipal Assembly.

The other eight persons include Mr Innocent Kodzo Gobah, Clemence Kafui Ansah, Edem Mensah and Prudence Banini.

The rest are Madam Priscella Dagojo, Mr Emmanuel Mensah, Agbotadua Seshie and Elikem Sewordor.

They were immediately replaced by new faces according to the standing orders of the house before the commencement of the exercise for the confirmation of the President's MCE nominee for the area on October 7.

Reasons for the revocation of their appointments was not immediately known at the time of filing this report but the exercise had to be delayed for 2hours in respect of the changes.

The new persons were Lawyer Anthony Nani Desewu, Mr Dickson Sapey-Adabla, Mr Joel Degue, Madam Aurelia Tudzi and Mr Kudjoe Fianu.

The remaining were Madam Patience Latsu, Mr Godsway Mensah, Agbotadua Kumasa, the spoke person for Togbui Sri lll and Dr Samuel Dotse.

The exercise later commenced and the President's nominee was confirmed to takeover his predecessor Mr Edudzi Effa.

A total of 22 assembly members and 10 government appointees took part in the election.

Mr Gemegah had 23 YES votes representing 70 percent against 9 NO votes in Assembly's meeting.

The new MCE promised to practice an open door administration for ideas to champion the development of the municipal.
