West Gonja: Soldier in critical condition after running into an abandoned farm truck at Adongo junction

A soldier whose identity is immediately not known and believed to be an officer of the 155 Armoured Regiment at Damongo in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region is currently battling for his life after crashing into an abandoned farm truck at Adongo junction near Canteen.

Reports say the military officer who was on a motorbike rammed into the trailer of the abandoned tractor on Wednesday evening.

The officer was rushed to the West Gonja Municipal hospital for treatment but has been transferred to Accra for further medical attention via a military helicopter today, Thursday, September 23rd, 2021.

The identity of the owner of the abandoned farm truck is yet to be known by investigators and the emergency unit of the Savannah Regional Police Command.

The tractor has since been towed to the military base in Damongo in a bid to unravel the owner of the recklessly parked truck.

Meanwhile, residents have blamed the accident on the lack of lightening system in the Damongo township.
