SEP 21, 2021 LISTEN

The National Women Organiser of the National Democratic Congress Dr. Hannah Louisa Bisiw has joined Ghanaians to express condolence to the family of late Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe.

She could however not forget the strength and dedication with which the late Ama Benyiwa Doe served the umbrella party and Mother Ghana, saying she “was reliable to a fault.”

In a statement signed by Dr. Bisiw, she described the late Benyiwa Doe as an icon, Courageous woman, goal getter and a “valued comrade who was not only valour but a social justice advocate.”

Mentioning her massive contributions in various areas of her life, Dr. Bisiw promised to “uphold” the work she began.

“The venerable Ama Benyiwa Doe made a significant contribution to the National Democratic Congress, the women’s wing, her country, Ghana, and was an inspiration to a lot of women across the globe.

“We can’t also fail to acknowledge her substantial contribution to the country's development as a Member of Parliament for Gomoa West Constituency.

“Mummy, I promise on behalf of the women's wing of the NDC to uphold the flame that you lit for women of this country, the great Akatamanso family, our beloved country and the African continent at large,” she emphasised.

I drenched in deep sorrow after receiving the news of the unfortunate passing to eternity, a mom, friend and comrade, Hon. Ama Benyiwa Doe.

The NDC, especially the women’s wing, is not only grieving at the passing of a tremendous individual but also shocked because we were hoping to see her back on her feet, after falling ill.

Hon Benyiwa Doe was reliable to a fault.

She was supportive and strong behind the women’s wing while active. When she fell sick, Madam Doe still monitored our activities and shared her opinion concerning the NDC whenever necessary.

We have, indeed, lost an icon. We have lost a courageous woman, a goal-getter and a valued comrade who was not only valour but a social justice advocate.

The venerable Ama Benyiwa Doe made a significant contribution to the National Democratic Congress, the women’s wing, her country, Ghana, and was an inspiration to a lot of women across the globe.

We can’t also fail to acknowledge her substantial contribution to the country's development as a Member of Parliament for Gomoa West Constituency.

As a national Women's Organiser of the great NDC and a Minister in charge of the Central Region, Madam Benyiwa Doe upheld the principles of democracy and went on to dazzle as a member of the Council of State.

Mummy, I promise on behalf of the women's wing of the NDC to uphold the flame that you lit for women of this country, the great Akatamanso family, our beloved country and the African continent at large.

The women’s wing of NDC sincerely sympathise with the bereaved family.

Just as our elders said, a mighty oak tree has fallen, denying us the shed of comfort on Sunny days.

Mama, da yie! May God keep you till we meet again.

Signed

Dr Hanna Louisa Bisiw
