As Students of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC) Ho go on break after wrapping up the 2020/2021 academic year, President of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN), Mawulorm Torku, has called on its members to continue to preach the NDC gospel, as they prepare to wrestle power from the ruling NPP in 2024.

In a statement to its members on September 19, 2021, Mawulorm outlined how the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia led administration is mismanaging the economy and causing hardship leading to social vices.

“Indeed, Ghana as an independent Country, everyone is in chain under the NPP government. For Ghanaians to enjoy Economic freedom, every citizen must be educated on how Akuffo Addo and Bawumia are mismanaging our economy. I am extending the clarion call to everybody, this is the time, let us go to the grassroot, our various communities, polling stations, engaging market women, our friends and people everywhere for them to understand what is happening under this tyrannical NPP government. Friends are killing friends for money rituals all because of economic hardship. We can only come out from this chain by voting NPP out in 2024.

“During this short break, I encourage everybody to go and preach the gospel of NDC. Likewise help them draw cogent comparisons between the John Mahama’s administration and this reckless Akuffo Addo Administration. By so doing, the electorates will now understand the reason why NDC must come back to power come 2024,” he stated.

Mawulorm Torku, who was elected President of TEIN on August 14, 2021, after service in an acting capacity since February 2021 assured the resumption of power by the NDC come 2024.

“I advise everybody not to call for Military takeover in this country Ghana as is happening in Guinea. Military takeover will endanger our democracy. The worst form of democracy is far better than the best form of military takeover. Again COVID-19 is real let's observe the safety protocols and always mask up. NDC is resuming power come 2024 to save Ghana from the shackles of this current government. Let's brace up for the task ahead to rescue posterity from doom.”

Mawulorm is a Governance Studies’ student at EPUC who will in the next academic year begin his 2-semester journey to complete. He has contributed immensely to the growth of the party since 2008 from Abutia Amesianyakofe where he has been the branch chairman since 2018. He was elected Vice President of the TEIN of EPUC in 2019.

The Premier University resumes for the beginning of a new academic year on Monday, October 25 for fresh students and Thursday, October 28, for continuing students.
