I denounce any disturbance in Odododiodio in my name – Mayor Adjei Sowah

The Mayor of the Greater Accra Region, Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah is asking the public to ignore any disturbance in the Odododiodioo Constituency with regards to agitations over the appointment of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

It comes on the back of reported demonstration in the Constituency on Saturday morning.

A group calling itself Concerned Youth of Odododiodoo Constituency hit the street today in protest against President Akufo-Addo's purported nomination of former Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister Elizabeth Sackey as the Municipal Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

Stressing that he recognises the authority of President Akufo-Addo, the Accra Mayor notes that reports of demonstrations should be ignored.

“It has come to my attention that certain individuals are demonstrating in the Odododiodio Constituency in anticipation of the MMDCEs announcement by the Minister of Local Government tomorrow.

“I unequivocally denounce any form of disturbances in my name,” part of the release signed by Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah has said.

It adds, “As responsible citizens, we should recognize the President's authority to nominate individuals of his choice to promote his agenda and it's our duty to support the appointees to succeed.

“I totally support all the President's nominations and commit to continue to work towards the development of the country.”
