The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Branch in Germany is demanding Mr. John Dramani Mahama to apologise to Ghanaians over his ‘do or die’ comment.

The former President has been widely criticised in the last couple of weeks after he stated that the 2024 general elections will be a ‘do or die’ affair.

According to NPP Germany, Mahama’s comment seems to suggest he is preparing to create more chaotic situations if he is not declared President in the next elections.

Accusing the former president of being desperate for power, the NPP Germany notes that he must put that aside, accept he did not speak well and responsibly apologise to Ghanaians.

“Ghanaians know we do not need leaders who are desperate to wield power, the desperation of the NDC is unprecedented; it's like a freight train out of control and could cause us a lot of unnecessary problems, loss of lives and property just to name a few, this is not a right attitude and Mr. Mahama must do the responsible act of accepting and apologising to Ghanaians over such comments,” part of the NPP Germany statement signed by Communications Director Nana Osei Boateng has said.

Meanwhile, the group is also calling for support for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his ministers in order for them to be able to deliver a constructive path to develop the country in the four years that lies ahead.

MAHAMA DESPERATE TO CLIMB BACK TO POWER

Former President Mahama has once again exhibited gross irresponsibility in his attempt to climb back to power. He is on record to have called the next election a "Do or Die" affair because he doesn't believe in the results he got in the 2020 elections.

We were made to believe about some mysterious numbers the NDC had collated and was ready to expose and strip the electoral commission naked in court only for Mr. Mahama to open himself up for public ridicule. The blazing gun they thought they had, turned out to be a "Dud Gun" .The NDC petition fell flat on it's face at the Supreme Court because there was no pink sheets ,no nothing to substanstiate their case; they couldn't have any because there was none. The elections were free and fair.

In a recent radio interview, the former President had made some comments that seem to suggest he is preparing to create more chaotic situations if he is not declared President in the next elections. He has said that the NDC will make it a "Do or Die" affair during the next elections.

What Mr. Mahama has failed to do is to try and change the meaning to his comments when the public began a backlash on him for making such irresponsible comments. He calls it an idiom when that idiom still means "desperate attempt to achieve a desired outcome". Ghanaians know we do not need leaders who are desperate to wield power, the desperation of the NDC is unprecedented; it's like a freight train out of control and could cause us a lot of unnecessary problems, loss of lives and property just to name a few, this is not a right attitude and Mr. Mahama must do the responsible act of accepting and apologising to Ghanaians over such comments.

He may decide not to apologise for his comments anyway but what he shouldn't lose memory on is that the country has laws and there is law enforcement ready to face off any person who may attempt to put the nation into chaos. Any plan to create mayhem will be met squarely as the law demands.

What the country needs at this moment is a full support for our President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his ministers in order for them to be able to deliver a constructive path to shape our nation better in the four years that lies ahead.

God Bless Ghana, the Npp and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

...Signed...

Nana Osei Boateng
