The Communication Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) George Ayisi says the former Special Prosecutor was simply “lazy and incompetent.”

He said even setting up the office structures was problematic for Martin Amidu.

Mr Ayisi comment follows Martin Amidu's accusation of political interference in his work by President Akufo-Addo.

“I think he was only trying to take up an advantage for his political party because he realized he couldn’t take up the challenge, he acted a bit lazily and incompetently.
"Even setting up the structures to fight corruption was a problem when resources had been made available to him, I don’t get it,” he noted.

Mr. Ayisi was sharing his views on the ongoing corruption debate on TV3 on the Wednesday morning show.

According to him, Martin Amidu was only asked by the president if he had sought the view of some of the people whose names had appeared in his corruption risk assessment.

Mr. Ayisi argued that basing on Mr. Amidu’s corruption risk assessment controversy to describe the NPP government as corrupt is unfair.

The ruling NPP and opposition NDC have been engaging in smear campaigns over whose government is more corrupt.
