A group calling itself Friends of Okatakyie Kennedy Agyapong has congratulated the Assin Central Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) on his latest appointment as the Board Chairman for Ghana Gas Limited.

Earlier this week, the maverick businessman and billionaire was sworn in as the new board chair to steer the affairs of Ghana Gas by Energy Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

In a press release from Friends of Okatakyie Kennedy Agyapong worldwide and the authentic platform, the group has congratulated the lawmaker.

“We at Friends of Okatakyie Kennedy Agyapong worldwide and the authentic platform have been and continue to solidly back him with our prayers and support. Our instituted three-day fasting and prayers ended yesterday with great news for our hero. We, therefore, congratulate Hon. Ken Agyapong on his appointment as the new chairman of the board of Ghana Gas Limited,” part of a release from the group reads.

Insisting that the ‘business acumen and shrewdness’ of Kennedy Agyapong caught the attention of President Akufo-Addo to give him the new appointment, the group says it believes the Assin Central MP will do a great job at Ghana Gas.

“We are of the firm belief that, the Hon. Kennedy Agyapong-led board of the Ghana Gas Limited will provide excellent leadership and direction for Ghana to become a major player in the global gas market,” the release adds.

Thank you President Nana Akufo-Addo for honouring Hon. Okatakyie Kennedy Agyapong

Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency, Honourable Okatakyie Kennedy Agyapong, has always been the vociferous and maverick leader who pursues the “Ghana agenda” without fear or favour. His revelations over the years have saved the state huge sums of money from dubious characters who parade the corridors of power.

It comes as no surprise when some people, mainly elements from the opposition party, want to take him to the cleaners for his revelations on the circumstances leading to the untimely demise of Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed, popularly known as Kaaka; a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). While Hon. Agyapong’s revelations serve as a worthy piece of information to help the security agencies unravel the truth, some people bent on politicizing Kaaka’s death with a certain twisted and unproven narrative are at the throat of the venerable Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and the Interior. Through all this antagonism, Hon. Agyapong has held his head high and continues to serve Ghana dutifully.

We at Friends of Okatakyie Kennedy Agyapong worldwide and the authentic platform have been and continue to solidly back him with our prayers and support. Our instituted three-day fasting and prayers ended yesterday with great news for our hero. We, therefore, congratulate Hon. Ken Agyapong on his appointment as the new chairman of the board of Ghana Gas Limited. Indeed, we believe his business acumen and shrewdness caught the attention of the president culminating in this great honour at the nation’s only gas transmission utility. We are of the firm belief that, the Hon. Kennedy Agyapong-led board of the Ghana Gas Limited will provide excellent leadership and direction for Ghana to become a major player in the global gas market.

We, therefore, call on our 700-membership in Ghana and the world and the entire Ghanaian populace to continue to support and bear Hon. Agyapong up in prayer, with references from Psalm 35, 86 and 91 and Isaiah 54:15-17. The Lord will continue to protect and guide Okatakyie Kennedy Agyapong to continue his good works for our dear country.
